Tithing

The word "tithe" literally means tenth or 10%. Tithing is giving back to God what was His to begin with. All that we have, or could ever hope to have, comes from Him. The Bible says that tithing is a reminder that God is the Supplier of everything. It teaches us to always put God first in our lives. We are instructed to give financially as an act of worship to God.

We give to honor God, expand and strengthen His Kingdom, and to do His will and as a result we bring heaven to earth as He taught us to pray. He gives us our daily bread and we give back to thank and honor Him.

Your tithes make it possible for our Church to financially support the following ministries:

Union Rescue Mission
Providing housing and meals for homeless men, women and children of Los Angeles for over 126 years! People with feelings of distress and despair have been coming to Union Rescue Mission seeking help. Andy Bales and his team are committed to serving the poor and are touching lives with the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Salvation Army Whittier
We support the uptown Whittier facility which houses and rehabilitates women and children. The motto of "heart to God, hand to man" is put into action every day as they change lives and transform our community. They provide so much more than essential shelter needs, they've created a home for all those who live in their care. Lt. Ryan Bearchell and his team are doing superb work and we stand behind them!
Whittier Pregnancy Care Clinic
We offer two support programs for our women. We have a parenting support group for our women who choose to carry-to-term, called Stepping Stones Support Group.
Serve-U International
Serve-U exists to give HOPE through their service to overseas communities.

The OCSBA is: A gathering of multi-cultural congregations seeking to advance the Kingdom together. It is from this reality our association has developed ways through resourcing existing churches, training, supporting, strengthening, developing strategy, etc… Anything the existing church deems necessary to help them advance the Kingdom where they are and getting our churches working together!

Chosen People Ministries
Chosen People Ministries exists to pray for, evangelize, disciple, and serve Jewish people everywhere and to help fellow believers do the same. Today, Chosen People Ministries serves in sixteen countries across the globe. Our outreach programs include evangelism and discipleship, Messianic Centers and congregations, equipping the local church for Jewish evangelism, print and web publications, and benevolence work. With your help, we will continue proclaiming the Good News through Jesus the Messiah to Jewish people around the world.
Joy to the World Foundation
The Joy To The World Foundations functions for the purpose of helping individuals accomplish their charitable objectives in religious, educational, scientific, benevolent and health related activities. Our church supports the religious efforts being made in Southeast Asia.

Introduction to Celebrate Recovery

Celebrate Recovery is a journey of hope! Through working the 12-steps, apply the truth of Scripture and sharing in fellowship with other people in recovery, recovery participants process through their hurts, triumph over there dependencies, and learn to trust in God.

Celebrate Recovery is designed to be a bridge between the traditional 12-step programs and the Church. Men and Women who are searching for their Higher Power are introduced to the love and power of Jesus. We are here for people who struggle with addictions, compulsions and codependency of all kinds.
